Why a checklist before submission?
An incomplete ballooned drawing or poorly completed Form 3 is the number one cause of rejection during a PPAP submission or FAIR AS9102. Customer quality teams systematically verify consistency between the ballooned drawing and the results table. One error means a full package return, delayed delivery, and often a formal corrective action request (8D, SCAR…).
For full PPAP/FAIR context, see the expert guide at ppap-fai.approche-qualite.fr.
✅ Checklist — Ballooned drawing
- ☐ All dimensions and geometric tolerances (GD&T) are ballooned
- ☐ General title block tolerances are ballooned (ISO 2768, ASME Y14.5…)
- ☐ Surface finishes (Ra, Rz) are ballooned
- ☐ General drawing notes are ballooned (treatments, coatings, material…)
- ☐ Numbering is sequential and unique (1, 2, 3…N) — no duplicates
- ☐ Each balloon is readable and unambiguously linked to a characteristic
- ☐ Drawing revision on ballooned drawing matches current revision
✅ Checklist — Results table (Form 3 / Element 9)
- ☐ Every balloon number has a corresponding row in the table
- ☐ Number of table rows = number of balloons on the drawing
- ☐ Nominal value and tolerances recorded for each row
- ☐ Measured value recorded for each row
- ☐ Measurement device recorded (caliper, CMM, micrometer…)
- ☐ Conformance status (C / NC) recorded for each row
- ☐ Non-conformances flagged and justified
BullePlan checks the boxes automatically
BullePlan ensures your ballooned drawing and Form 3 are consistent and complete before export: no balloon number can be duplicated, each balloon automatically generates a row in Form 3, and the final export is an Excel or PDF table ready to sign.
